Anker PowerCore Essential USB-C Powerbank with 20.000 mAh & PD for $53.99

Hey, guys! Just a heads up: The linked offer is already a bit older and the price of the gadget might have changed or it might not be available anymore.

Anker enjoys probably the best reputation among the China brands on Amazon. No wonder, many products like the Soundcore Motion+ Speaker convinced us in the test. The Powerbanks are also popular, the Anker PowerCore Essential offers a capacity of 20,000 mAh and supports 18W power delivery.

Surprisingly thin

Not much has changed in the area of Powerbank design in recent years, so the PowerCore Essential also looks like any other Powerbank. Unlike the Omars Powerbank, it doesn’t have a display, but a hatched surface for a better grip. The Powerbank is only available completely in black, on the top is the LED display, which also functions as a power button.

The dimensions are 15.75 x 7.37 x 2.03 cm, with a weight of 345.5 g.

With PowerDelivery

As the name suggests, the PowerCore Essential offers a capacity of 20,000 mAh. This should be enough to charge your smartphone, for example a Xiaomi Mi 9, about four times, depending on the charging speed. Anker provides the Powerbank with two connectors: a USB-A and a USB-C port. Both offer a power of 18W, unfortunately Anker doesn’t give more detailed information. Anker claims that you can charge an iPhone 11 Pro to 50% in 30 minutes with the Powerbank.

The USB-C port can of course also be used for the input. With a suitable Power Delivery charger like the AUKEY wall charger you can charge the Powerbank completely in 6 to 7 hours. A charger for charging is not included.

But there is a USB type C to USB type C cable, a travel bag and the operating instructions for the proud price. After all, the anchor on this product comes with an 18-month warranty. Apropos safety: the Powerbank offers temperature control and, of course, overload protection.

You can, even at Amazon, get a Powerbank with such a capacity at a much lower price. The surcharge is justified by the support for Power Delivery and the good quality of Anker including a long warranty. Whether this is worth the surcharge is up to you to decide. Since the Powerbank is still new on the market, we couldn’t check the manufacturer’s data ourselves yet. So far, however, we have had very positive experiences with Anker.
