BlitzWolf BW-AF1 Air Fryer with App Control for 84,35€/$169.99
Besides the Thermomix and its alternatives, the hot air fryer, also called Air Fryer, was probably the innovation among food processors in recent years. Banggood’s own brand now also offers the BlitzWolf BW-AF1 Air Fryer – even with app control.

With 6L capacity
Blitzwolf could not have designed its own hot air fryer much simpler, here they are clearly oriented towards the model from Philips. What’s practical is that the Air Fryer doesn’t take up that much space in the kitchen, after all it only measures 35 cm in height, just under 30 cm in width and 30.5 cm in depth when you take out the frying basket. The all-black kitchen appliance is only covered in plastic, so it may not feel quite as high-end accordingly.
On the top is a display for operating the AF1. The timer can be set on it, but also the temperature. In addition, there are presets for fries, nuggets and meat, but of course you can also adjust manually. The frying basket is completely removable, which should make cleaning easier. It also comes with a safety button, so the basket won’t accidentally detach from the grid. The capacity is stated as 6 liters, which should be a bit above average. We have yet to test how many people this is enough for.
Frying fries on the go
Why actually hot air fryer? Unlike a conventional deep fryer, the AF-1 works without oil and “only” with hot air circulation. This makes dishes like fries a little healthier to prepare, since less or no oil is used. It also saves one from having to handle hot grease, which can also be potentially dangerous. BlitzWolf states the power of the BW-AF1 Air Fryer at 1800W, with temperatures ranging from 40 to 200°C| 104 to 392 °F. BlitzWolf also thinks of an automatic off switch once you remove the basket.
It probably wouldn’t be a China gadget if the hot air fryer wasn’t “smart” at the same time. BlitzWolf equips the AF-1 with an app that lets you start your meals remotely. So, theoretically, you can already throw the fries from the freezer into the Air Fryer in the morning and then start the frying process via the app on the way home after work.
Assessment
Yes, we will also test the BlitzWolf BW-AF1 Air Fryer, it could be a useful addition to the office kitchen. We are curious how the air fryer performs in the test. If you compare the asking price with the offers on Amazon, you will notice that it is half as expensive as the Philips model, but there are also similarly priced models that offer slightly less capacity and performance.
If you have any good tips or recipes for the Air Fryer, feel free to share! For me personally, the air fryer is still a bit of a mystery.
