Divoom Ditoo – small Pixel-Art-Bluetooth-Speaker with Retro-Design for $80 at Amazon
Cool retro design? Check! Solid, small Bluetooth speaker with good sound? Check! Cheap bargain? Uh… well, sometimes you just have to make compromises. The Divoom Ditoo looks pretty cool at first.
- Divoom Dito Bluetooth Speaker
It is now almost two years ago that I bought the Divoom Tivoo. I gave it to my girlfriend at the time, who wanted a Bluetooth speaker and has a soft spot for charming (retro) designs. Tim S. would now say something like, “She’s dating you, too.” Good one Tim. Okay, but I walked into that one, too. Even twice, I could have just written something else and Tim has nothing to do with this.
Uh where was I? Right, Divoom Tivoo. Anyway, since then, the speaker is almost daily in use at our house and the design as a retro TV is still a joy. What I’m getting at is that with Divoom, you always pay for the design as well. Stylish speakers with LED panels are more or less their trademark. The fact that you can get an equivalent speaker for much less money, I do not want to talk nice and you do not have to find good. You should simply know what you want and what you are getting into. Because regardless of the price, experience has shown that the quality is right here, and the Tivoo is still as good after two years as it was back then.
After this somewhat lengthy introduction, I come to the Divoom Ditoo. It caught my eye because it follows the same approach as the Tivoo. Instead of a TV, there’s a tube monitor here – even with a keyboard. And yes, even the 90s already fall under retro today. 🙂
You also have several colors to choose from: Black, white, pink, green and sky blue. In addition, there is the Divoom-typical LED panel. Pixel Art can be displayed on it via the corresponding app. Here, you can create your own pictures or animations or choose from thousands of other creations. This is definitely well received, just look at the Amazon reviews with 4.8 stars with over 3800 reviews.
About the actual speaker: there is not much info. 10 watts of power are already decent for a speaker of this size. The battery is supposed to last up to 8 hours. If it sounds anything like the Tivoo, which is my reference model, then this is a top speaker. Not for parties, not for a large dining room and 50+ guests, but for the living room or the balcony. And as a gift it is of course also suitable.
Who wants the same (or even better) sound for less money, can look around here 🙂
