ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI: another Ultra Vaccum Cleaner?
Not an ultra version like Roborock, but the same in spirit. The DEEBOT X1 OMNI is the upcoming flagship vacuum robot from ECOVACS. Rotating mops, 3D recognition and its own voice assistant. The future front-runner?
What else is needed in the designer sector? That’s right, a designer vacuum robot. The DEEBOT X1 OMNI has apparently been created by designer Jacob Jensen. If you look at his portfolio, he has already designed culture bags for Lufthansa, but also coffins were already there.
Basically, however, it remains with the circular suction robot design, only here they use a lot of metallic gray and black.
Rotating mops & decent suction power
On the underside of the Vaccum Cleaner, we find two rotating mops, just like on the ROIDMI EVA or Dreame W10. The same principle is applied here as in other models, the mops rotate at 180 rpm and exert more pressure at the same time.
Thus, you get a more thorough cleaning result, which we could already test with the Dreame or also with the Yeedi Mop Station. At the same time, it vacuums the floor with 5000 pa suction power, which should be enough even for tricky carpets.
Versatile suction station
After cleaning, it’s back to the suction and cleaning station, which is a real all-rounder. Not only does it clean the DEEBOT X1 OMNI’s mops, but it also vacuums the dust chamber.
3D detection of the 3rd generation
In addition to the laser tower, the AIVI technology is used again, which is ECOVACS’ name for 3D detection. Here, one is now one generation further than with the T9 AIVI. Cables and other small objects are to be detected and bypassed.
Now with its own voice assistant
The voice assistant YIKO is completely new and accepts commands without detours via Google or Amazon. It will be exciting to see how well it works in German.
Even though the Vaccum Cleaner is now released in our country, it is not brand new. In the Asian market, the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI has already been released since September. In terms of timing, though, you’re right on time, since the competition from Roborock, Dreame, and ROIDMI are also releasing just such models. One has certainly been precisely planned, because with a release in April, one sets the release date at the same time as that of the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The comparison of the very different models will be interesting here. There is another point that they have in common with Roborock. The starting MSRP is the same 1499€ ($1695). Again, that’s not a slim price and they’ll have to fight for the justification for it in practice first.
Which wiping function will win, that of the Roborock or will ECOVACS emerge victorious?
