Flytec V008 High Speed Jet RC Boat 30km/h for under $80

Hey, guys! Just a heads up: The linked offer is already a bit older and the price of the gadget might have changed or it might not be available anymore.

When the weather is nice, one likes to go to the water. If you also like remote-controlled boats (or have always wanted to try them), the Flytec V008 is a nippy and not too expensive option.

Flytec is one of those brands from which you can find all kinds of vehicles and even boats at Banggood. One of the newer models is the Flytec V008, a speedboat that can reach speeds of up to 30 km/h. For a boat of this size, that’s pretty fast on the water. For a boat of this size, this is already very fast on the water.

The boat is 33 cm long, 12 cm wide and 8 cm high. Inside sits a 1,500 mAh LiPo battery that should carry it over the waves for 12 to 15 minutes. So that you don’t get stuck in the middle of the lake (which, if you’re not in swimming trunks anyway, is rather silly), there’s a warning sound when the battery is about to run out. This way you can return to shore in time.

By the way, the range of the remote control should be 150 meters. If it is only half that much, that should be easily enough in most cases. At this distance, you can’t see much of the boat with the naked eye. But testing the range also requires some risk-taking. Once the connection is gone, you have to think of something to get the boat back.

It is also important that no water gets inside the float. For this, the V008 is waterproof. Almost the entire top half can be removed to get to the battery and motor. Closed, no water should penetrate, even if the boat rolls over. In this case, it can also be turned back to the right side by itself.

Ideal summer toy

We’ve already tried a few remote-controlled boats. From experience, I can say that even 25 km/h feels pretty fast. The 30-35 km/h promised here (you can find both specs at Banggood) kick it up a notch. A fun toy that even children can use, you can not really break anything on the open water. (However, if there are people in the water, caution is of course required. A minimum distance must be maintained, a 30 km/h speedboat in the face is seriously dangerous).

If the water is free, however, you can let off steam to your heart’s content.

After joining the team in late 2015 I quickly fell in love with aerial photography. Today I review most of our drones. I'm also interested in gaming related gadgets.
