Leband ergonomic backrest for under $40 (US Warehouse)

Hey, guys! Just a heads up: The linked offer is already a bit older and the price of the gadget might have changed or it might not be available anymore.

Right now, pretty much everyone is at a desk and in a home office, much to the chagrin of their backs. Even in school, you’ve been told all too often how bad it is to sit for long periods of time. The backrest from Leband, a cooperation partner of Xiaomi, may be a suitable upgrade for the old desk chair to get into a healthier sitting posture.

Leband backrest performance

How to sit properly

The backrest is attached to the desk chair via a simple loop and placed on the seat. It measures 415 x 282 x 175 mm and weighs about 1.3 kg. The design is kept very simple and the backrest only comes in white, with a small red and orange accent.

The supporting elements for the back are made of plastic and have 306 holes so that air can always get to the back. However, I can imagine that a fabric cover would be a bit more comfortable 😁. Between the red elements there is a knob with which you can adjust the height, depending on your height.

The backrest protrudes forward by about 17.5 cm, so the seat is correspondingly smaller and you probably won’t be able to lean your head against it. But the advantage is again that you can attach the backrest to any chair you can think of. Of course, the Leband backrest is supportive for a correct sitting position, but you also have to do something for it yourself. The easiest way to control yourself is to always sit as far back in the chair as possible, so that your hips are slightly tilted forward and your shoulders are pulled back. While working to stand or the stairs, instead of taking the elevator is no longer a secret.

I think that the gadget can be quite handy especially for the home office or even for gaming, but you also have to take a look at yourself and sit upright in the backrest.

Do you make sure that you always sit sensibly or do you, like me, always make a hunchback? šŸ˜„

I thought sitting straight up is now considered no bueno? You should be reclined back slightly so you don't have a lot of pressure on your spine? Something like that, been a few years since I read about it.

Then you might know more than we do about that, I still thought sitting upright is the way to go, but devreasing the pressure on the spine sounds legit too. Maybe you might be able tilt the back rest a bit to adjust that.
