ODA-Hop: The modular travel bag for globetrotters
You are always on the go, always moving from one place to another? Then this modular bag could be something for you. Currently, ODA-Hop, the bag for the busy and frequent traveler, is affordable in the crowdfunding section of Kickstarter. It represents backpack, shoulder bag and small travel bag in one.

ODA-Hop: Always on the go
The team behind the “Modular Bag” is called Pinn, comes from Hong Kong and already has experience with crowdfunding projects: The development team is responsible for Huzi – Dream Car, Mixed Animals, Cosmos Building Blocks and the Infinity Pillow. Since April 2017 Pinn is already working on the project. Despite the sufficient experience we find the created clip for their new project clearly too long, but it shows all the possibilities the bag offers. See for yourself:

The 42 x 29 x 12 cm bag has a potential capacity of 16 l and weighs only 1.1 kg when unpacked. The straps were produced by Fidlock, a company specialising in closures that are particularly popular in the bicycle sector, for example with bottle holders.
Anyone interested in financing the project should be careful to choose the right financing method. If you really want to receive the complete travel bag (as shown here), choose “Early Bird – Hop Backpack + Shoulder Bag”. Otherwise you will only receive the rucksack. Kickstarter financing offers the advantage that you can get products cheaper before the shop release than they will be sold later. Nevertheless, almost $190 for the total package of backpack and shoulder bag is already a decent amount of money for a bag.

Outlook
The ODA hop is not yet fully financed, although it is on the right track. Should more than 2,000 supporters come together, more color options will be unlocked, otherwise it will remain black. These colors could also be combined, for example, one part of the bag grey and the other red. However, those who support the project will not be supplied until the end of August 2020. But at least the production team can be sure that they will get the product (which is not always certain with crowdfunding), since this is already their fifth project. At such a high price, however, scepticism about crowdfunding projects is of course justified.
Our assessment: Interesting bag for those of us who are constantly on the road, but also very expensive. Travel bags are already available for about $30 at Amazon, although not as visually appealing as this model here. And also not modular. It’s definitely not a must-have gadget, but a little luxury.
What do you think of the flexible travel bag? Do you need something like that or do you say the normal backpack is enough?
