Stylish design with 8″ touchscreen
Xiaomi has probably noticed by now that smart assistants are making their way into many homes. Alexa is certainly widespread, but Xiaomi relies on Google Assistant, at least in Europe. In China, however, they stick to the native XiaoAI Assistant, which we know from some Chinese versions of Xiaomi devices. That’s why the Redmi XiaoAI Smart Clock is only meant for the Chinese market so far, but as the past shows, the device may still come as a global version anyway.
Finally, you can enjoy a very modern and stylish design with this smart home gadget. It is taller than the Xiaomi Smart Clock at 20 cm in height. The front is black, but the frame is white, which creates a pleasant contrast. The front is divided into two parts. In the upper half is an 8-inch IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 1200 x 800 pixels. The screen can be used to display content, adjust the Smart Clock or play pictures in the form of a digital picture frame. A 720p camera is also on board, which can be used for video calls.
On the bottom sits a speaker, a two-inch speaker with 10W of power that supports DTS. The smart voice assistant can be used to listen to music or to get answers to commands. The Redmi XiaoAI Smart Clock registers these via two array microphones, which unfortunately only understand Chinese and possibly English. The microphone can then be used to control other smart home devices like the Roborock S7 via the Mi Home app. However, the Redmi XiaoAI Smart Clock has to be connected to the local network via the integrated dual-band ac Wi-Fi.
The Redmi XiaoAI Smart Clock is not yet available outside of China and is only worth importing if you speak Chinese. But we find it so stylish that we hope Xiaomi will release it globally as well. Do you use such a smart assistant at home?To the gadget
