Not just cool: SOTHING fan for $26.54
Yeah, yeah, anti-cyclical buying, blah, blah, blah. Let’s be honest: at below 15 degrees Celsius no normal person thinks “Hey, why don’t I buy a fan”. But as soon as the temperatures rise again, as they do at the moment, everyone cries out for a little cooling. The SOTHING fan is not only a cool piece of design for your household.

Small but still enough power
The SOTHING fan is with 11.5 cm x 17 cm x 21.5 cm a typical small desktop fan. At my workplace I can have it standing right in front of me and still be able to look at my screens without any problems. At home I sometimes just had it standing next to me in the bookshelf. With 17 cm diameter (housing) and 7 rotor blades (13 cm diameter) you also have the feeling that there is a good breeze coming at you. Because of its 400 gram total weight, changing it over is no problem.
One can adjust a total of 3 speed levels, for this there is a single button at the front of the stand. I also really like the possibility to move the head of the fan up or down by 90°. This way you can create an indirect airflow instead of getting a full head of air blown into your face. This is not a world novelty, but still very nice.
In addition, the fan is really super quiet, when working at the lowest speed its quiet humming doesn’t bother you at all. It also looks really good (if you put your mind to it). You can choose between a forest green with rust-red (?) rotor blades and a completely rust-red design. The editorial staff also had salmon red, brick red, crimson or orange brown in the discussion. We are probably all not experts in color.
13 hours running time
The highlight of the SOTHING fan is the built-in 4000 mAh battery. This should give you up to 13 hours of battery life. I couldn’t use it to its full capacity in the test, but the fan easily survived an 8 hour working day. The MicroUSB charging cable (unfortunately no USB-C) is then included in the scope of delivery. You have to have a power plug or USB port at hand. It is not recommended to use the fan only in mains operation, because it does not seem to charge at the same time. A small LED under the power button shows you by a red light that the battery is empty. Green light means fan on.
On the underside of the stand there are again all the necessary technical specifications and a CE mark. Supposedly, one can also remove the front of the fan for easy cleaning, but I just couldn’t get it to work for a long time but eventaully I managed to remove the front side. Unfortunately it took forever and I was afraid to break something, but it works!
Is the SOTHING fan worth it?
What do you get for your money: a stylish design, 3 speed settings, a pretty quiet device and a 4000 mAh battery, which makes the fan very portable. At the original price of $40.71 (as of June 2020) I don’t think I would spend the money for it, my small TaoTronics fan is enough for me, but for about $25 in the offer you can’t do much wrong in my opinion. What do you think?
