Xiaomi Bluetooth Headset Pro with two microphones released for $35.19

Hey, guys! Just a heads up: The linked offer is already a bit older and the price of the gadget might have changed or it might not be available anymore.

The Bluetooth headsets from Xiaomi are companions for conversations at home or on the road. The latest addition to the portfolio is the Xiaomi Bluetooth Headset Pro, which is also attached via an earhook. This headband looks amazingly similar to the Mi Band 4. What improvements does the new headset bring?

Earhook for secure fit

Like its predecessor, the Headset Pro is completely black. In order to be suitable for both ears, the actual receiver can be turned by 180°. An earhook, which is normally found on sports headphones, provides the right fit.

The design of the headband is quite interesting. Behind the ear there is a slightly thicker piece which looks very similar to Mi Band 4. Maybe they try to use the leftovers, now that Mi Band 5 is out. Because of the earhook, the headphones are a little heavier than normal wireless headphones at 12 g, but the earhook can also distribute the weight better.

Since the release of its predecessor, a lot has happened in the field of Bluetooth headphones and completely wireless headphones are almost the norm. Charging cases have also become popular, which is why the Headset Pro also has one. Thus, one simply puts the headset into the box and over the charging points at the lower end of the earhook, it is charged.

In order to charge the charging box, a USB-C connection is available. This is also already used by the modern smartphones of the last years.

The handset is designed to provide a talk time of 8 hours and can then be charged four times in the box. In total, Xiaomi promises a battery life of 40 hours using the charging sleeve.

Modern Bluetooth chipset

A 12 mm driver and a Qualcomm QCC3020 Bluetooth chipset is built into the handset. This chipset supports Bluetooth 5, the Bluetooth codec aptX and cVc noise reduction. It should be noted that aptX is available, but is not advertised by Xiaomi. Therefore it is possible that the headset is not compatible with it.

However, what Xiaomi is promoting is cVc microphone noise reduction. With a headset, of course, it’s a smart idea to implement it. The noise canceller tries to recognize your voice and filter out other disturbing noises. Therefore the headset has not only one microphone, but two.

You can also use the headset to control the music played or the call. To do this, you have to tap on the back of the receiver or press the button on the Mi Band like ear hook.

The demand for headsets has certainly increased in recent months and the Xiaomi Bluetooth Headset Pro looks like a well thought-out product. Can you do anything with this headset or do you prefer to use normal headphones?
