I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who loses track of all the different Xiaomi Piston models – especially since the basic models are quite similar in terms of looks and quality. But it is exactly the matte finish that, in my eyes, makes them even more beautiful and even a bit more valuable. Admittedly, with in-ear headphones there is not really enough room to leave fingerprints and smudges. But in my opinion, glossy surfaces quickly tend to look worn and dirty. Therefore matte surfaces are not only more elegant, but also more beneficial.

The shape has remained the same, only the bridge between headphone and cable is a little rounder than the one of the normal basic model – but still pleasant. The Xiaomi Piston In-Ear headphones in the Fresh Version are also encased in aluminum, have a microphone and a play / pause button and are available in five colors. The sound is described as clear and detailed and if you believe the experience of others, this is true to a certain volume despite the quite low price. It’s likely that they are not nearly approaching the optically very similar Piston Pro In Ears in terms of quality and sound, but if you consider that they only cost a fraction of it, you certainly have a really good alternative.
