Yeelight LED table lamp with Qi charging station for $62.99

The manufacturer Yeelight currently seems to be throwing a load of new smart home products onto the Chinese market. Beside the new bedside lamp 2 we noticed the Yeelight LED table lamp, which can even charge wireless smartphones!

Minimalist design

Perhaps this is only a relatively subjective impression, but at first glance the Yeelight table lamp looks almost like a product from the four-letter furniture chain. The conscious minimalism extends over a height of 29.25 cm, while the lampshade has a diameter of 17.95 cm. The table lamp consists of the stand, which also contains the mentioned Qi charging station. Like many of the Yeelight products, the table lamp is almost completely white, only the Qi loading area is dark grey.

The lampshade is adjustable by 30° and offers a cool effect on the back. There is space between the lamp and the shade, so the light comes through. This backlight effect makes the lighting even more spacious. Of course, the shade is only made of plastic.

The base of the Yeelight YLCT03YL table lamp also offers the only possibility of operation. With a single press of the button you can switch the table lamp on and off, with a long press you can regulate the colour temperature and brightness. If you press it twice quickly, it seems to go out with a little delay.

App Control & Qi Charger for Smartphones

The lampshade contains an LED that offers a spectrum in color temperature from 2700K to 6500K. This covers both warm white and cold white. However, it only glows white, not in RGB colours. Power is provided by a USB connection on the back of the socket, 20W are required. The Qi charging pad, which probably supports up to 10W charging power, is of course also operated above this. This can be used to charge a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, for example.

Yeelight products are known as smart home gadgets because they can be controlled with the corresponding Yeelight app. You can use it to activate various functions and make settings, such as timers, creating scenes or the color temperature. As with the Yeelight bedside lamp 2, the new table lamp also supports Apple’s HomeKit, allowing you to control the lamp from an iPhone or iPad, for example. To make this possible, the Yeelight YLCT03YL table lamp supports 802.11 b/g/n WiFi.

Evaluation

I really like the table lamp optically because of its minimalist design, generally the manufacturer Yeelight always delivers functional and stylish smart home gadgets. The integrated Qi charging station is also a useful feature, especially on the desk, as long as you have a Qi-capable smartphone such as the Xiaomi Mi 9. For me personally the lamp is a bit too expensive, a good $80 for a table lamp is a proud price. Or what do you say?
